Vibration Analysis of Gearbox Fault Diagnosis using DWT and Statistical Features

The gearbox is one of the critical subsystems in any rotating machinery, which plays a significant role machine-driven power transmission terms change speed and torque. It vital patching different industrial functionalities. advent developing gear technologies requirement to fulfil desired mechanical benefits lead add more importance health condition monitoring from various types fault occurrences at an earlier stage. This study presents vibration analysis diagnosis using discrete wavelet transform (DWT) statistical features. observed that, reconstruction better classification achieved. has presented with emphasis time-domain followed by two approaches. approach-1 illustrated as windowing raw signal, feature extraction support vector machine (SVM). In approach-2, after signal - each window original converted into coefficients reconstructed signals (without leaving time domain) levels decomposition approach-1. diagnostic accuracy SVM 100 Monte-Carlo -runs validate consistency accomplished result. By observing success rates approaches, it clear that approach-2 coefficient’s providing accuracy, can be practically deployed diagnose fault.
